Challenge obstacle course – first run

8:41 pm on Tuesday, September 20, 2005

Went today to the Challenge class to watch them run the obstacle course.  They all seemed to be doing okay.  It had been strenuous but they said they had a good night’s sleep.

The obstacle course was a good challenge since all team members had to complete an obstacle before any could move on.  Below are some highlights:

Michael Morton’s group at the start (they had to carry this beam at the start and the finish) – you can see Cleveland to the right and Wesley at the back right.  Noah is in the back with the hat.

Cleveland Morton at the top of the “wall” extending his leg so that his teammates could climb up (he could reach farther than the others could with their arms).

Wesley Morton crawling under the wire obstacle (he was fast!)

The Boys at Challenge 011.jpg (350x233 pixels)
Noah coming out of the “tunnel” (Wesley and Cleveland had a tight fit in there).

The Boys at Challenge 008 (Small).jpg (319x480 pixels)
Noah being hauled up the wall – he was the last one after helping everyone else up.

Michael Morton on the double cable traverse (most people used their legs too, but Michael zoomed across much faster).

The Morton guys come for Challenge course

8:53 pm on Monday, September 19, 2005

The Morton guys came this morning in their truck with all their gear for Challenge.  We had a good visit with them and fed Noah and them a good meal before they went to the Challenge course.  Ethan, Emanuel, and I went with them to the registration process to make sure everything went okay.  I helped Jean Whatley a little with getting some faxes.  The guys were all assigned to different squads – I wish they could have been together but the strong ones are going to have to help the weaker ones (one of the lessons of the week).  Got to introduce them to Earnest – had a good talk.
