Happy Birthday to You…and You….and You….and You!
Today Grandmother and Granddaddy and Uncle Brooke came to our house to celebrate some birthdays. Today is Brooke’s birthday, Granddaddy’s was last week, and Grandmother and Abbi’s birthdays are next week. The day was pretty and we enjoyed visiting, riding on the zip line (including Grandmother and Granddaddy), and eating good food.
Uncle Brooke really wanted Wendi’s renowned carrot cake. Note the 32 pecans, one for each year. He took home what was left.
Abbi opened her presents from Georgia relatives.
Nehemiah was fascinated with the presents – he’ll really enjoy the paper at Christmas. Notice that his nose even lights up!

Zzziiiip!
We all enjoyed sliding down our new 200 foot zip slide. There was hardly a time all weekend that it was not in use. Even into the wee hours of the night!

Living the Strenuous Life
Because of the number of fathers and young men at our house this past weekend, we took the opportunity to engage in manly activities. Some of these included competitive running of our obstacle course and other physical challenges.

Weekend Get Together
This past weekend we invited several families to our house for a time of fellowship. People started arriving Friday afternoon and the last left late Sunday night. The Lord blessed us with wonderful weather and we were able to enjoy many outdoor activities including running our obstacle course, dancing the Virginia Reel, sliding on the zip line, and shooting. There were many deep conversations, and much encouragement and fellowship throughout the weekend.
On Sunday the fathers taught about the meaning and importance of a multi-generational vision. We sang requested hymns accompanied by several talented musicians and enjoyed a time of praise and worship to our Lord.
Our meals were graciously prepared by the ladies of the house and I am sure that nobody went hungry.
