Mmm… Fresh baked bread from the oven.
Nehemiah: “Can I give some to the dog?” Abbi: No Sir! We don’t labor to make healthy bread for a DOG!”
Nehemiah: “Hmm, Abbi’s not looking.”
There goes the bread! Molly quickly gobbles up the evidence.
Nehemiah: “Bad dog, bad Molly Girl!”
Don’t look at me. I didn’t do anything!

We weren’t able to post something about Gabriel’s fourth birthday on September 19th, since that was in the middle of when the blog was down. But, better late than never! So anyway, he had a wonderful day and Grandmother, Granddaddy and Uncle Brooke were able to come down and spent the afternoon with us! It always makes it even more special when grandparents are able to come down and join the celebration! I still can’t believe Gabriel is FOUR! It seems just like yesterday when God brought our special little Gibbie into our lives! He brings so much joy to our family! We love you, Gib!
Can you guess how old I am?
Getting some assistance from wonderful big brothers.
He got his much awaited pop-gun!
That’s his “Gibbie Grin” that always brightens our day!
Everyone gathered around.
WOW!

While most of our blog posts are graciously done by our wonderful photographer (Abbi), Noah has decided to attempt a couple.
Last week some friends of ours came to visit for a few days. I was privileged to be able to spent some time with Matthew Vawser, from Idaho, who is a very accomplished banjo and fiddle player, among other things. While he was here we worked in the garden, opened the beehives, and forged (meaning, we ‘blacksmithed’). Matthew and I both had a great time making knives out of rail-road spikes. It seems that boys come with a natural, God-given, attraction to fire, hammers, and knives. I guess you could call them ‘Dominion-taking Tools’.

Our blog is back up and functional (we think). We decided we’d go ahead and change the look a little since we’ve been away so long. We’ll try to catch up some of our news over the next few days. Thanks for your patience!

Last Friday Granddaddy and Uncle Brooke came over and took down some of the dead pine trees in our yard. I believe they brought down fifteen trees, sawed them up and hauled the wood to the burn pile all in one afternoon. They did a great job!
Pulling a tree down that got caught.
Noah backed the truck up so they could load it.

On Saturday, the day of the wedding, Michael did not see Kressant until he went to pick her up at the Smith’s house, where she waited with her bridesmaids. The hour for the ‘pickup’ was known only by his father, Mr. Morton. When the signal finally came, a trumpet blast by Cleveland, the members of the wedding party piled into multiple white vehicles and drove to the Smith’s house. The photographer called and said that she wasn’t going to make it in time due to traffic. So at the last minute I was asked to step in for her. I hopped in the lead vehicle so I could be the first one out and be able to catch the moment when Michael saw his bride. It was a blessing to be able to serve in this way.
