Right now we are having a delightful visit from the Pethtel Family. They ordered 30 of Noah’s chickens and came down to pick them up. They arrived Thursday evening and are staying until Saturday night! We have enjoyed their company and are having a delightful time.
Yesterday we went over to some friend’s house and took two of our chickens for them to smoke. Their smoker is made out of a propane tank. Mr. Pethtel got to start the fire with an oxygen/acetylene torch! We ladies spent our time in the house learning how to make sourdough bread and were given some starter to take home. Can you smell the bread cooking?

This past weekend we Sanders ladies were able to attend a baby shower for a dear friend. Momma graciously stayed at home and took care of sick little boys. She was sorely missed by all! Everyone who put the shower together did a beautiful job! I wasn’t very faithful with the camera this time, but did snap a few shots.

Some wonderful punch was served!
After everyone got their plates, we had a time of sweet fellowship.

Katie received many handmade gifts that were just precious! I must say that we had some very talented seamstresses in the room.
Camo diapers! LOL!

This is a little tree that people could hang cards of encouragement on for Katie.

Nehemiah took me on a marvelous tour of our camper. We recently opened it up to “air out”. Going on a tour with a almost- two-year-old always promises to be quite an entertaining adventure. He was very proud of himself for discovering this “new place”, and even more proud to show it to someone else (me). Oh, what precious times we can have with our little guys! ~R~

“Shall we go in?”.
“Cheese!”.
“We will now begin our tour, thank you for joining me.”
“This is my bed.”
“That’s the sink were we wash our dishes.”
“That over there is my brothers hat, he comes in here sometimes.”
“Thank you very much for coming on my tour. I hope you enjoyed it!”
“Bye, y’all!”

Noah wanted some pictures of his chickens the other day, so off we went with the camera. They are quite amusing because of their “lack of common sense”. Enjoy the pics! ~R
Greeted upon my arrival.
Checking things out below.

Yes, you’re asking yourself……what?????? That was our same reaction too. The other day Noah went down to feed his chickens (our last batch). When he got down there he found all the chickens crammed to one corner of the pen quite upset about something. Noah peered in and saw a brown bird whacking itself against the side of the pen attempting to find a way out. A hawk had somehow managed to get in the pen and had been munching on a chick. When it was nice and full, we guessed, it tried to to get back out without success. Then it went ballistic…. no telling how long it had been stuck in that pen when Noah went down there! LOL! We’ve had many unusual adventures raising chickens, but this is a new one to us!
Hey, look at this!

“Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.”
