On Monday the whole family loaded up to go to our friends’ house for a hog killin’. They had raised four hogs for a barbecue they are having on Saturday. The younger boys got to help catch some chickens that were housed under the hogs to eat the feed they dropped.
After dispatching the hogs with a .22, they were dragged out and hoisted in the air with a front-end-loader. A professional butcher was there to gut and haul off the meat for processing. Lots of fun!
The hog shed.
Getting the first one.
Watching the whole process…
Here it comes.
Standing in the sun.
Gutting over a hole.
“Hey Eman, look at that!”
WOW!
The best view.
The girls chatting with Mrs. Whatley.
“The man himself, I presume!”
Loading them up to be processed.
Covering over the hole filled with “goodies”.
Taking a ride.
Playin’ around.
Visiting before we leave.

Last week Momma, Bekah and Ethan went up to help Lora Lynn for a few days after Ellen was born. I believe they had a great time and got lots done. Ethan enjoyed playing in the snow (a rare treat), Bekah was a great help watching the twins and Adam and Momma fixed some scrumptious meals! The next few post are some pictures from their trip.

Last week Eman lost his third tooth. That made a record of losing three teeth in one week!
Smile Big!
Where’d they go?

Noah recently finished a violin that he has been repairing and refinishing for a customer. He had been working on it for almost a year now and it was kind of sad to see it go! Noah did a fantastic job and it and it ended up to be a gorgeous instrument! Also, because it is over a hundred years old, it sounded better than any violin we had ever heard! Very rich tone. Below are some before and after pictures.
