Around the House

Here’s to the most diverse group of pictures. And the longest post from one day yet! Have a blessed week! ~Rebekah

After several attempts, Ethan finally managed to build his tower up to the ceiling! Wow!

Daddy reading through some papers after supper.

Satisfying the paparazzi. (Goodness, can he be fake.  J)

Lights! (I said diverse pictures)

New thing #1: Some friends gave us this plant and we are now enjoying it’s beautiful flowers!

Commonly seen thing #1: Dirty feet (these are really not that dirty compared to some!)

Climbin’ trees!

Commonly seen thing #2: Goofiness J.

Swingin’ in the sun, just swingin’ in the sun!

One of my many handsome brothers! (I am so blessed!!)

New thing #2: A turkey! Yes, a turkey (Look, I know it looks like a Ostrich but we have to face fact).  Momma and the boys went and picked the poor thing up at the feed store. They had had several turkeys but, from what we heard, someone came and bought all of them but one. (Yes, rather strange is it not?) So we are now the proud owners of one turkey. J

By God’s grace our gardens continue to grow despite the lack of rain. We just recently harvested our garlic but more on that later.

The golf cart gets plenty of use throughout the day as it is used to serve many purposes.

Commonly seen thing #3: The piano hardly ever gets a day of rest around here. (Personally, I don’t feel sorry for it. J )

Commonly seen thing #4: Caesar Salad. Thanks to Mrs. Whatley, it is a commonly seen item on our dinner table.

Gracie talks as she cleans up supper.

Commonly seen thing #5: The reading of God’s Word. I praise the Lord that this is a commonly seen thing in our household.

The most commonly seen thing, but not any less beautiful and amazing! Praise the Lord!

Multi-Purpose Crocs

7:32 am on Wednesday, May 23, 2007

Yesterday, when cooking in the kitchen, I heard running water in the bathroom. Thinking it was just one of the boys washing up, I paid it no mind. I went on with supper preparations and about five minutes later I was still hearing the water on full blast from the kitchen bathroom sink. I went to investigate and this is what I found:

Fillin’ er up.

Thirsty boy.

Slurpin’ it down! (Uh, oh! I’m caught.)

I want some MORE!

This procedure was repeated many times until the thirst was quenched.

I figure that when Nehemiah had come inside to get a drink (before I was working in the kitchen) he couldn’t reach his cup and couldn’t find someone to get it for him. So I guess he just decided to improvise and use what was available (like the shoes on his feet). LOL! Daddy said that he’s just building up his immune system. We never lack for entertainment with our little boys around.

Our guys have been working hard trying to finish the treehouse project in the middle of our lake site. They have been so diligent and the result is shown as follows:

Happenings at the 11 Acre Wood

7:08 pm on Monday, May 7, 2007

Faithful Readers,

As you have probably already guessed, we have been quite busy of late, evidenced by the absence of posts. Well, the Sanders Pastured Poultry business is thriving by God’s grace. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of last week found us up at 5:30am ready to start the “harvesting or disassembly line”. It was a race to finish before the flies started coming out around 9:30am. LOL! We also had the pleasure of having the Stone family join us for the weekend. They were able to “be in on” Friday’s harvesting. Lots of fun times!

The guys have also been working hard on an unusual project. With the assistance of our dear Uncle, the guys cut the top out of a huge beech tree which would be standing in the middle of our pond when it is filled up. Since then, Noah and Daddy have been building a platform/treehouse on the tree about 17 feet in the air. So far they have only used the Kubota, a ladder and a pulley system (with safety harnesses) to build it. They Lord has given me a brilliant father and brothers.

Chicken Disassembly on the Lawn

At work on Friday with the Stone Family.

Momma showing how it is done.

Hey, is there a bird in there?

Emily, Rebekah and Anna resting before their turn.

Proverbs 31 mothers in action!

Having fun with the head.

“Presentation is everything.”

We will leave you with some lovely chicken feet.  (We learned that the “healing” chicken soup is made from boiling the chicken feet.)
