A Visit to Pasco Farms

8:23 pm on Thursday, September 20, 2007

After the wedding, our family spent a night with the dear Roberts family over at their house. They were gracious enough to host us until we left to pick up a half a cow from a nearby butcher on Monday afternoon. We always look forward to our time spent with their family and were able to make many wonderful memories during this visit.

Their lovely home.

Visiting.

“I’m caught!”

Bekah and Daisy.

Playin’ in the field.

Master Gray.

“I’ve got it!”

“Is it ever going to come my way?”

Little boys.

In the kitchen.

“I have an idea!” LOL!

GRITS. (Girls Raised In The South)

Chicken chasers.

In the garden gathering all the “end of the season” produce.

Farmers.

Rushing down before we have to leave, bringing all the over ripe and rotten fruits and vegetables to the pigs. (Notice how all of them have their right foot in the air.)

Throwing the rotten watermelons and watching them smash open on the ground for the pigs. So much fun!

The Robert’s calf.

Observing firsthand what it means to “eat like a pig”.

Many thanks to Willie who took some of the above pictures.

The Wedding Ceremony

“Hey everyone….here comes Cleveland!!!”

The bride excitedly clings to her Father.

Cleveland announces the Bridegroom’s coming.

The bridesmaids assemble and everyone takes their places.

Waiting to get the first glimpse of her betrothed.

Everyone holds their breath…and the groom comes riding in.

Wesley dismounts and is joined by his groomsmen.

*Joy*

The groom approaches with his ‘men’.

Claiming his Bride.

Momma and Daddy working with the timing and music.

The ceremony took place on the front lawn. The setting and weather were gorgeous.

Wedding: Rehearsal

10:56 am on Monday, September 17, 2007

Daddy and Momma did a wonderful job of coordinating. They helped everything run smoothly and organized.

Gathering everyone around.

Watching Cleveland practice his “ride up”. Eagerly awaiting who he comes to announce!

In action!

The groomsmen assemble to wait on Wesley.

My handsome brother.

Watching from the sidelines. (Multi-tasking in practice.)

Here he comes!!! With the excitement that arose during the rehearsal, it made you look forward, even more, to the “real thing”.

Figuring out the formation when striding across the lawn.

The girls chatting until their time to rehearse.

*Laughs*

This is how some, who weren’t in the wedding party, passed their time .

Everyone figuring out where they are to stand and laughing over Mr. Bret’s antics.

“Okay, that was great. Now that everyone knows their part, let’s run through it again.”

My little charges.

Wesley rides up at breakneck speed, once again.

“That was great!”

The bride and groom.

The recessional.

Willie, the sound man. The last time through, it was rehearsed with the music. It really set the atmosphere.

Days…Weeks…Months….

…it has been since our last post. So if there are any faithful readers left or anyone still out there reading this, have hope. A load of posts are coming soon!

Where have we been, you ask? Some of you probably know that our blog was down for about two weeks for, yet again, another changing of servers. Those two weeks were when we had time to post and were eagerly anticipating when it would be fixed. But of course, when the migration was finally done and we could post again, our household was a whirlwind. The blogging had to wait, once again. Lora Lynn and Andrew found a house in Birmingham and we were busy helping them get settled in. It was sad to see them leave after living together in close quarters for nine weeks, but we look forward to seeing what God has in store for their family in this new season of their lives.

Also, our family was busy preparing and helping get ready for another S’morton Wedding. Exciting times! We girls were busy sewing away on our green dresses which was the color all the wedding servers would be wearing. Bekah  also made Momma a beautiful blue dress (Daddy’s favorite color) and I spent time rehemming Noah’s pants for his groomsman tux (which for some reason had been too short). The wedding week arrived and all the last minute preparations were put together. The day before we were planning to leave (9-6-07), was filled with packing and baking. That proved to be an interesting day because our pump had also decided to finally die, leaving us with no water. We got along fine without it in the baking of twenty-four dozen cookies, except for the fact that the pile of dishes was making its way upwards closing  in the gap between it and the ceiling. LOL! Now, let’s note that in order to pack, you must have clean clothes, and in order to have clean clothes, you must wash them, and in order to wash them, you must have water! So Momma made runs back and forth from our gracious neighbor who let us use their washer. By the end of the day we had made lots of memories and the van was loaded ready to head out the next morning. What a joyous time was had by all this past weekend. Laughs, fellowship, the body of Christ working together, singing, and all glory given to God! September 8, 2007 our family was privileged to be a part of and witness the Wedding Celebration of Wesley and Rachel who were uniting together in Christ. Pictures and details to follow. We were also excited that Lora Lynn and her family were able to attend

Below are some various pictures from August that I couldn’t post earlier.

All decked out.

Nehemiah driving his tractor on Daddy’s head one evening during family reading time.

Nehemiah and Adam decided they didn’t want to be left out, so they became twins! They would go where the other went, copy what the other said, and the cutest of all was what they called each other. Nehemiah called Adam, “Pickle”, and Adam would call Nehemiah, “Poogie”. Very manly names, I know.

Uncle and Nephew.

Our little “Hindu baby” tries her first cheeto!

Yummy!

Boyhood.

“Hi ya!” (Notice the air Gibbie is getting in the background!)

Sam-Bo

The gang minus Nehemiah.

On a mission. Watch out!

A sampling of Sanders Produce.

The farmer.

Uncle Ethan and Ellen.

Here is the end result of an adventure with Grace.

Lora Lynn’s new house. This picture was when we were trying to figure where things needed to be hung.

Grandmother fixed a wonderful supper and we enjoyed the first meal in the new Fanning home.

The first class dining!

End of the day silliness.
