As you can probably tell, I love taking pictures of my little brothers.

Tour

7:09 am on Wednesday, October 31, 2007

On Saturday we met Grandmother and Granddaddy at the property and walked around a bit. Come and join us on our tour….

First we looked at the clearing around the shop and house site.

With more cleared it feels nice and open.

This is a little strip of lawn area up behind the shop that is intended to be the “parking place” for equipment.

We enjoyed seeing the beautiful colors of the trees.

The pond was plugged last week. Up from the house site you can just start to see the water filling up.

Now we are headed down to the pond.

As you can see, our grass (though scarce) is making its appearance.

The beginning of the dock Daddy, Noah and Ethan are building.

Granddaddy on the lawn looking out over everything.

Now we have walked around and are now standing on top on the dam.

They are watching the little guys throw rocks into the water.

This is the view from the backside of the dam.

Making plans.

Reformation Celebration

7:41 am on Tuesday, October 30, 2007

On Sunday afternoon the whole church came over to our house for a Reformation Celebration. The weather was so pretty and some warm spiced cider and cocoa was available once the sun went down. The pictures will explain the activities of the afternoon.

Some enjoyed watching all the excitement going on down at the playing field.

The little girls pulling each other on the swing.

Football game.

We were blessed to only have one bloody nose!

Ethan and Josh. What characters!

Everyone gathered around to sing.

I thought this was the sweetest picture. This is the grandfather rocking his little grandson!

The dear Curtis family.

Noah and Bekah share a song sheet.

Pastor Paul used our pool to baptize a young man in our church.

The water was 62 degrees. Brrrr….

Witnesses.

Gabriel waiting to eat. All the ladies brought yummy food!

Mrs. Pam’s creation! Yum.

Josh, Jennifer and Erin stayed a little later that evening to visit and play the traditional game of “Mad Gab” before heading back to Birmingham. They moved up their about two months ago and we miss them so much! We were glad they were able to stay with us this weekend though!

Late night discussions.

Their dog Maggie doing tricks for us.

Jennifer and Maggie “perform”.

We were sorry Momma and Daddy missed out on the fellowship, but they had taken Eman to the ER. The boys had been playing out on the swing in the front that night, and Eman had fallen off. The scary part was that he didn’t remember anything. He had been brought in and put on Momma and Daddy’s bed, but then kept asking strange questions like “how did I get in here?” and also denied being on a swing. Before they left to get him checked, we gathered everyone around the bed and prayed for him and his shoulder which is what he complained was hurting. In the end, we praise God that his head was fine and there wasn’t anything worse than a broken (in two) collarbone. Eman seems to be doing really well.

Birthday Celebration

4:24 pm on Monday, October 29, 2007

On Rebekah’s birthday, last Wednesday, we had a full house. Grandmother and Granddaddy came down for the celebration, the Clarks (family from Daddy’s side) stopped in for the afternoon on their way home to Florida and Jeff also joined us for our weekly practice. What fun! Bekah and Momma went out and did some thrift store shopping in the morning and then got to eat lunch with Daddy. For supper I made a bunch of hamburgers at Bekah’s request. Good choice, my dear!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Opening some of her gifts.

An apron!

I wonder what’s goin’ on in that child’s head?

Momma and Mrs. Arlene chatting.

Mr. Bob brought his bagpipes and to our delight, played a little for us!

These were parlor bagpipes, if you were wondering, so we didn’t have to cover our ears. :-)

Wrestling time. (It was really cold and wet that day and the boys had lots of energy.)

Grandmother and Grace in the kitchen.

Bekah with her dessert, dirt and sand. (Sanders Specialty)

He wasted no time “digging” in.

Serving it up.

After supper we sat around and watched Rebekah open gifts and visited.

I shall leave you now, with a picture of the birthday girl.

Fall Visits

8:19 am on Monday, October 22, 2007

On Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, we were delighted to have the company of Mrs. Kathy and all her dear children. They stopped by on their way down to Florida and dropped off their freezer to be used for chickens later. Mrs. Kathy, thanks for coming and your family is welcome anytime!

Visiting after breakfast Wednesday morning.

The kiddos outside enjoying the cooler weather.

This must have been the “hands on hip” moment. LOL!

Cutie Pie.

Rounding everyone up to head out. Bye!

Oh, and we mustn’t forget Eman’s possum. He caught him in his trap that morning, but it was let go. We’ll wait until cooler weather to do any skinning.

Brothers are Great Subjects

7:55 am on Friday, October 19, 2007

This past week Noah and I went out and took his senior pictures. We went to a little community, not far away, which provided some nice backdrops that I was looking for. Here is the link to my website where I have a couple uploaded. Hope you enjoy.

Explain This…

12:48 pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2007

I ran across some old pictures the other day and decided to do something with a couple that especially made me laugh. So, I picked my brain and came up with a Caption Contest. Just what is this “Caption Contest” you say? Well, below each given picture there is a set of guidelines for your caption. Following those guidelines you’re free to write. Make up what you want. From serious to side-splitting funny. You pick. But, the winners will be chosen for their creativity. Then, after we receive the captions, we’ll pick our favorites and post them on the blog (That means no peaking at the other comments until after the contest is over). J So, grab your thinking cap and your best creativity and go for it! ~Bekah

Okay, so here’s the first one. This caption has to have something to do with a name. Forget ‘Nehemiah’ and come up with an original one for our crazy character.

Now for our next one. What is he doing? What is he thinking? Make up what you like. You’re free to run with this one.

We’re looking forward to the comments! Send them in!
