…for the gingerbread houses:
#1 Momma (Wendi)
#2 Bekah
#3 Abbi
Thanks for all the guesses. Some of you came really close.
And as for blogging, bear with me. Lord Willing, I want to do some posting this week, but we kind of have a busy schedule. Until then, may God Bless you and your families as we strive to follow His will for our lives. Merry Christmas!

Last week all the ladies and older girls in our church got together and decorated gingerbread houses. Momma, Bekah and I got to each do one.
Our little village.
House #1- Aren’t the shrubs so cute?
House #2- Icicles and rose buds
House #3- Cute lamp posts
Christmas wreath.
Rooftops.
Now, can anyone guess which person decorated which house?

A tree inside?
Rearranging furniture.
All excited.
Noah and I do the lights every year.
Lovely WHITE lights.
Around and around….boy was that a prickly tree! I alternated between stringing lights and pulling thorns out of my fingers and arms. LOL!
And Zorro appears on the scene to join in on the decorating.
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Momma helps people get started on stringing popcorn and cranberries.
Bekah.
We made all the decorations for our tree. The boys really did well.
Noah throws and….
…blows his cotton all over the tree. Very wintry.
Some very devoted workers.
What was I doing? Love the pinky thing too. Oh, my.
The little boys take their finished strands for Momma to tie off for them.
Lookin’ good.
Lovely outfit, my dear brother. A mix between Zorro, ballerina, and Croc man.
“Oh dear, my skirt is falling down!”
Sisters.
“Ouch, it’s pulling my hair!”
Everyone cut out snowflakes to ornament the tree. They were all different.
Eman puts his up high.
Noah made our star.
Star of David.
Cheese.
The finished product (before the star).

This year we decided to break our “tradition” and save money by cutting down a tree in our woods. It was lots of fun “hunting” for the right one.
Hunters on the lookout.
The past few days it has been in the 80′s.
“Hey, this one looks nice!” We keep it in mind as we continue on to look at all our options.
Molly joins our little escapade.
We pass by the layers on our hunt.
Still haven’t found another prospect.
Pretty sunset.
Triplets.
After a thorough search, we conclude that our first pick was the best-a cedar tree.
Grace’s art.
Momma and Nehemiah wait as it is cut down.
Ethan gives it a try.
“How’s it coming down there?”
Curls.
Noah finishes up…
…and down it falls.
Success!
Trudging home.

Grandmother, Granddaddy and Uncle Brooke met our family at Callaway Gardens one night last week. We rode on the trolley and got to see all the pretty lights. It wasn’t too cold, but we all welcomed the hot chocolate and cider Grandmother brought! The boys were all excited because Grandmother treated them and they got to go on a bungee jump! They’ve never done something like that before and it was so fun to watch. I wish I’d had my camera, but it was still in the car at this point. Since Gabriel was so light, he got to boing really high up. And Ethan figured out how to do the flipping.
Anyhow, the pictures below are when we went in the big tent that had beautifully decorated Christmas trees in it.
All the grandkids with Grandmother and Granddaddy.
Daddy, the coat rack.
Playin’ around.
Pretty ornament.
Uncle Brooke- Happy Birthday!

We spent Thanksgiving day at Aunt Toody’s house (where she was graciously letting us stay) with all of Daddy’s side of the family. The evening was spent in eating pumpkin pies, watching the Colts game and playing euchre.
Grace and Adrienne perform “surgery” on Hannah who has a loose tooth. They provided quite the entertainment. After a while, I felt sorry for poor Hannah under their “prolonged, not so gentle, doctoral care”. So I rescued her and quickly fixed the tooth problem. LOL!
Okay, the tooth is out and now they have moved on to “fixing” Aunt Barbara’s hair. What cuties.
Down in the basement the dress-up box has been opened. Boy, we could have used this “Dentist” earlier upstairs. With the “shoulder pad mask” and everything, he looks professional. LOL!
The dress-up corner for all ages.
Caleb playing cards with Nehemiah and Eman.
The dessert/euchre table- popular place to be.
Grammy and Momma share laughs in the kitchen.
To finish off the evening, we played the Sanders traditional game of “4 on the couch”.
This set a record for the biggest game we’ve ever played-at least 30 or more people. Fun times.

This year, our family went into Thanksgiving week with heavy hearts. The Friday before Thanksgiving, our dear Grandpa Gene passed away after a sudden stroke. It came as quite a shock to all of us. He was the man who’d walk (at least) 3miles a day, take our stairs two at a time, always ready for an adventure and so full of life, now in the presence of our Savior. We are reminded, once again, not to take anything for granted and to thank God everyday for your many blessings.
We headed up to Indiana a couple days earlier than planned, so we could be there for visitation and the funeral. Our Grammy was so strong and an example to us all. She used this opportunity not to have people feel sorry for her, but to show Christ’s love and is living out the command of Titus 2 where older women are to train the younger. I cannot imagine having to go through the process of burying my third husband, and I know that Grammy is saddened in her heart and will miss Grandpa Gene (as we all will). But her JOY in any circumstance is evident to all.
We love you Grammy!
All the grandsons.
Noah and Eman listening to WWII stories from Grandpa Gene’s brother, Mr. Bill.
The boys getting out a little energy with Uncle Jon.

Since I know some of you haven’t had anything else do do but wonder over the
question of how many pounds of pecans we picked up, I decided it was time to relieve you. LOL! Our first trip to pick up pecans yielded 187lbs. Then we went back a couple weeks later and worked hard for about an hour. In all, we ended up with 286lbs of cracked pecans. Last week we spent an evening at the Whatley’s who let us pick up their pecans and we had a shelling party. Loads of fun!
